How a missing vaccination record turned into a mission.
A record I couldn't find
After being accepted for my Fall 2026 master's at UIUC, I had to submit my childhood immunization records. I had none, and re-took every test to rebuild a history that should've taken five minutes to find.
It wasn't just me
Every hospital trip with my grandparents meant scrambling through chats and drives for old reports, still unsure what they meant. Doctors agreed: an organized history changes everything.
Build to scale
My last startup, ApnaCloakroom, one of 24 incubated by the Udhyam Foundation, taught me to build software that scales. And today's AI can finally read a decade-old prescription.
So no family starts from zero
So I deferred my UIUC admission by a year to build CuroVault with Pankaj (co-founder), the right problem, with the right technology, at the right time.
What we do
CuroVault is a personal health records app. You photograph or upload prescriptions, lab reports, and discharge summaries; the app reads and organizes them for you, tracks your medications and conditions over time, and keeps records for your whole family in one account. When you visit a doctor, you can hand them a time-limited QR code that opens exactly the records you choose, nothing more.
Self-upload first, because that's where people actually are
India is building a national digital health network, but most small clinics, labs, and pharmacies aren't connected to it yet. If we only pulled records from providers already on that network, most people would open an empty app.
So we built the opposite way around: CuroVault works from day one with the paper you already have. You upload a document from any local clinic or lab, and it becomes part of your organized history immediately. As more providers join India's digital health network over time, automatically fetching those records becomes a bonus layer on top, not the thing the whole app depends on.
How we're different from apps like Aarogya Setu
India's government apps, Aarogya Setu 2.0 and other ABHA-based health lockers, are a real step forward. They give you a national health ID and can pull records from hospitals connected to the digital health network. But they're built around that network, and around storing records that are already digital.
For most families, that leaves gaps. The local clinic, the neighbourhood lab, the paediatrician down the road, are usually not connected yet, so the app can feel empty. And even when records do show up, these apps mostly file them away rather than help you make sense of them. That everyday convenience is exactly what CuroVault is built for:
- Works with your paper today, not only providers already on the national network. Snap a photo of any prescription or report and it's organized at once.
- Reads and explains your records, turning messy handwriting into plain-language summaries, instead of just storing a file.
- Built for the whole family, parents, children, and elderly relatives in one caregiver account, not a separate login per person.
- Immunization-first, with records you can prove, verified by your doctor and nurse (coming soon), ready for a school, a university, or a visa office.
- Sharing you control, a time-limited QR that opens only the records you choose, and that you can revoke at any moment.
We're not competing with India's digital health network, we build on it. As more clinics and labs connect, automatically fetching those records simply becomes a bonus layer inside CuroVault, on top of everything your family has already organized.

How we think about your data
Health data is the most sensitive category of personal information under Indian law, and we treat it with that seriousness. Your data is only ever used to help you, never for advertising, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes. Sharing is always explicit and something you can revoke.
